Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream VS 3CE Back To Baby BB Cream

Perter Thomas 3CE Back to baby review

Hey lovelies, how’s the Christmas shopping coming along so far? I dropped by Sephora today to re-stock my two favorite beauty creams before the year ends and while the prices are still alluring. I’m back with another review to prove that being a woman is far from easy.

Yes the two beauty creams that have become my staples are Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream and 3CE Back to Baby BB Cream. I understand it’s not an apple to apple comparison as CC creams and BB creams have different main functions and marketed for separate beauty issues. For me though, the differences are very subtle as both function to blur imperfections and give me that dewy, glowing finish I love. Let’s start yeah?

I must say that for the quality of this product, the price is actually a bargain. This is the only brand that convinced me to use a cc cream. It doesn’t accentuate pores or give you those foundation lines.

Product Description: An all-in-one anti aging treatment, sunscreen, complexion corrector, moisturizer, and tint is formulated with arbutin and camu camu, an Amazonian superfruit that has 30 times the vitamin C of an average orange.

I am extremely happy with this cream. It gives me that glowing effect and not the greasy feels. With the amazing coverage, the overall touch is still very light on the skin. There are also times when I prefer the matte finish and I achieve that by using 3CE’s loose powder (because 3CE solves everything hah) Continue Reading

    Prada Infusion d Homme Review

    prada infusion d homme review

In my previous post My Top 10 Favorite Perfumes, Prada Infusion d Homme was a second placer, but if I had to choose an everyday scent that will go with almost any occasion – office, events, casual days or even just laying around in fresh sheets on a lazy Sunday, this is that scent. Sadly, this has been discontinued.

This is an ultra clean, heavenly classic scent that doesn’t command too much attention, but is definitely a sophisticated head turner and a lasting fragrance. I get a lot of compliments wearing this and had both male and female colleagues ask for spritzes on their wrists, hair and clothes. It is a very balanced beautiful blend of notes it can draw people in.

To put the smell into words: imagine the most clean-smelling soap, fresh from the shower scent, dries down to a soft, lovely, baby powdery scent.
    Prada perfume

I’ve never been so hooked in a men’s perfume as the projection tend to be over powering and masculine. This is a rare exception. When I first sprayed this perfume on, I couldn’t stopped smelling my wrist. Longevity-wise, that’s about 5 to 7 hrs on my skin and clothes.

It’s been years of wearing this scent and it still gives me that love at first sniff feeling (yes, I am corny like that). To me, it is much more refined than Prada Amber Pour Homme (men).

Infusion D Homme is simply the best smelling perfume ever. It is not your typical men’s scent. If subtle, crisp, light, clean, powdery, unoffensive, refined are how you imagine your dream perfume to be like, this scent is for you. Continue Reading

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask | Review

Innisfree Super Volcanis Pore Clay Mask

I have never really paid attention to clay mask or mud clearing treatment until I started using GlamGlow, and I have never really been TOO eco-conscious, TOO organic when it comes to skin care choices until Innisfree happened. It’s not easy to look good and go green at the same time but thanks Mother Earth for the influx of eco-friendly Korean skin care brands.

My first Innisfree experience started with a nail polish. I got convinced.

Today I will be reviewing one of their bestsellers Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask and how my skin was instantly in love with its natural ingredients. ..and no, this isn’t a geology lecture.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

The price is 21SGD (100 ml) and that’s a lot cheaper than other clay masks like GlamGlow.

    My Top 10 Favorite Perfumes

If I have to choose just one perfume, I could live quite happily on Prada Infusion d’ Amande alone. But I am always game for pleasant olfactory surprises. When it comes to liking perfumes though, my process is really slow. I take my time getting to know the scent. I would carry the test strips from Sephora or fragrant stores, I go back again several times and test on my clothes, my skin, spray it on the air – I don’t fall in love with perfumes easily.

And when I do, I rarely change my opinion. In this blog, I’m sharing my list of beautifully crafted “love at first sniffs“. The first 5-6 on the list are what I consider my signature scents, while 7-10 on the list are part of my “cheerful collection”.

    Enjoy reading fragrance lovers!

    1. Prada Infusion d’ Amande Eau de Parfum

    Infusion D'Amande by Prada (EDP)

The love of my life. Wearing this scent is like hugging your favorite person.

    Prada Infusion d amande review

This is one of my signature scents for years now. It is a personal unicorn perfume as this has been out of reach by 2023. To me a perfume is more than just a nice smelling scent, it is your personality. And this one is something that says “this perfume is me”.

Such a beautiful, gentle, clean, and comforting scent, it feels like a hug. It has a very polite sillage too. You can imagine being wrapped with soothing almond sweetness and fluffy clouds. It is hard not to admire this scent.

If you love the DNA behind Infusion d’ Iris or Iris, this one will be a love at first sniff. This is my personal favorite from the Infusions line and until now I have not found anything comparable to this one. It is simply a cut above most designer fragrances I’ve tried. For this, I can go heavy on the spraying with no risk of offending anyone.

It has a soft projection with moderate longevity (lasting power of about 4-5 hours on my skin). It dries down to a very lovely skin scent. It’s perfect for office scent, bedtime or quiet moments with a good book. If you’re into perfumes that don’t scream yet make lasting impressions and get you compliments, put this on your top 3 list. You can also read my separate post/review about Prada Infusion d’ Amande.

     2. Prada Infusion D’Homme Eau de Toilette

The perfume that introduced me to Prada’s Les Infusion collection. I will say it – Daniela Andrier is the best thing that ever happened in Perfume LaLaLand. She has a rare talent of making perfumes that don’t smell like perfumes in the Les Infusions collection.

This is a man’s perfume but this is very much wearable for women too. Refined, classic, clean, soft pure, the epitome of elegance. In the dry-down,  it exudes elegant powdery iris scent. The longevity is pretty outstanding for about 5 to 7 hours and has a moderate projection. It can be worn both in the day and night too. Infusion D Homme is definitely one of the best designer scents ever made, hands down. I have to say Prada’s Infusion collection marked my graduation from fruity, girly girly perfumes to a more refined, office-friendly and comforting scent choices.

10 Reasons Why I Fell in Love with Japan

History has a way of creating awkward realizations for future generations. I admit that the colonization history I learned from school has made me avoid the idea of going to Japan and immerse myself into their culture. My boyfriend on the other hand, loves Japan so much he could change his name to Gundam or Daiso anytime.

Long story short, we spent Christmas season in Japan. I set no expectations but I was curious. Then here I am, couldn’t even find the right word to describe how much I love Japan….like so much I’m willing to change my name into Hachika, or Uniqla.

Here are some of the many reasons why I fell in love with Japan and why you will too.

    1. Japanese people are incredibly kind

The thing that really made me fall in love with Japan were the people. I couldn’t get over how amazingly, ridiculously kind everyone was, and I’m not yet exaggerating. Throughout our one week stay, all of our dealings with the locals have been pleasant ones- that has to mean something.
Their kindness and hospitality have instantly struck a chord in our hearts – right from day one.

…. the subway officers who tried their best to help us understand their map directions even if they can’t speak English properly

….a lady in the cashier section even came out of her cubicle to assist me even though there were customers waiting

….the stranger inside a ramen restaurant who even drew on his table napkin to give us a clear direction of the route to Don Quijote

….a guy walked us all the way to an address because he spoke no English but made sure we got there

….and the many locals who got out of their way to guide us on Tokyo’s complicated train map

These were just a few scenarios of all the kindness that we have experienced.

    2. Vending Machines

In Japan, you are never too far away from a vending machine. This means you are never too far away from energy drinks, hot drink, melons, fried chicken, fresh eggs, books, disposable cameras, books, umbrella and even underwear! Life is made so much easier eh, and they are going all touchscreen too.

Hail to the kingdom of vending machines!

    3. Talking Toilets

and just like that, the regular toilets struck me as barbaric…The Japanese were born to make everything cool. Continue Reading

    GlamGlow Super Mud Review

Finally, GlamGlow is now a regular beauty product in Sephora Singapore. Their expensive price tags and consistent celebrity endorsements got me curios on what their range can do to my aging skin. A little research of the company will tell us that Glamglow has been the excellent cosmetic company offering the world’s most advanced scientific clearing system that helps in fighting several skin problems. Their products are specially designed not only for women but as well as for men of all skin types and all ages.

Here is my personal experience using GlamGlow Super-Mud Clearing Treatment as I was able to get a sample size.

The formula incorporates a unique six-acid blend that is said to dramatically reveal clearer and glowing skin.

The clay dries up fast so make sure to apply and blend it well to important zones. Here’s how it blends after a minute.

    Naturactor Cover Face Concealer Review

Hi again, I’m back with yet another review and this time it’s the much raved about Japanese cover face brand, Naturactor Cover Face Concealer Foundation or simply Naturactor. I first saw this product on Heart Evangelista’s instagram and you know..things die hard fans do 😛

Naturactor is not readily available in most beauty stores in Singapore but with my persistence, I was able to spot one in one of the retail shops at the basement of Lucky Plaza, Orchard.

    IMG_6656

I am not really fan of using foundation-like make ups so I have no idea what shade will suit my skin tone. The store owner who has the same skin tone as mine advised me to use the shade 130

If my command of Japanese serves me well, I believe the instructions say “just apply the cream evenly on your face” haha. Continue Reading
