Mario Badescu Drying Cream Review

You mean hormonal zits? Of course I do get those occasional & stubborn breakouts that are so hard to tame. I finally convinced myself to try Mario Badescu’s drying cream and to keep it short I am so glad that it works!

How To Use:

Dab small amount onto clusters of affected areas until product blends into skin. Do not apply around the eye area.

I apply it on the combat area overnight and the next morning the pesky pimple have shrunk. The mark usually goes away after a week. I have a lot to thank this cream for!

P.S. I’ve also included Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing gel in my facial wash routine but I’ve yet to see what it does to my skin.

You guys I’m back! It’s been 3 decades since the last review my hands are old and wrinkled as I type this. What’s new in the superficial world? Hah! Make Up For Ever has recently reintroduced its own new-and-improved line of Artist Rouge Lipsticks. The line has a wide selection of the usual culprits: bold colors and nudes

Speaking of, I picked two of my main “usuals” – Nude & Neon Pink shades.

ARTIST ROUGE CREME C106

This creamy high pigmented lipstick has a silky-smooth finish leaving no trace of tackiness. While it doesn’t really stay put for more than 3 hours, the major plus points for me, is that its formulated without the following:

Parabens
Sulfates
Phthalates

which means beauty without compromise for us laaydies. I think this shade will look great on all skin tones.

Skin Inc Pure UV Protect – nearly invisible CC cream

The holiday season is almost here, how’s your gift list coming along? I’m thrilled to see what beauty brands have in store for skin care gift sets this year while keeping an element of practicality in my pocket. Well to kickoff the gift giving quarter, I bought myself a little treat and finally decided to test another face cream – the Skin Inc Pure UV Protect. I’ve been meaning to try this since the brand became available in Sephora, not to mention the very alluring and OCD-clean beauty counters are a hard-to-resist pull marketing strategy.

What ‘s the lure?

Skin Inc Pure UV Protect is an all-in-one makeup base, sunscreen, moisturizer and anti-aging cream that protects the skin from damaging UV rays whilst firming, hydrating and plumping and effortlessly airbrushes skin to perfection in one fuss-free application. It contains Ceramide and marine collagen that retains skin’s moisture, reduces the appearance of lines and provides perfect coverage without clogging pores. SPF 30 PA++

Sounds like what my other CC creams can do too! The only difference is that this cream is too sheer it’s nearly invisible.

When applied without blending, it can look 2x whiter than my skin tone but I was told not to worry cos it will pick up my undertones just fine.

Blend well until its invisible.

Uh, my veins said hello! I can agree that the coverage of this product is not high which makes it a perfect choice for the “barely there” look. I like how it has that weightless airbrushed effect that doesn’t look too matte or greasy. It feels light enough and a week of using this cream didn’t break me out. Above all, it is paraben-free yay to the leaping bunny!

SGD72 – 30 ml

Final thoughts

If you advocate a healthy “barely there” finish, this face cream fits the bill. It’s particularly a good match for people with a bit of skin dullness wanting some coverage, but not a face full of cakey make up. Beat that foundation. Let’s go light shall we?

Burberry’s Effortless Brow Definer

I never really paid attention to how my eyebrows looked until I came to Singapore, lured by the refreshing store concept of Sephora with loads of options to sculpt eyebrows. I remember how it would take me 100 years to figure out and pull off a decent arch. I just didn’t get why eyebrows are a way of life. Geesh.

Fast forward to meeting Instagram and its strong selfie game later, I noticed how polished eyebrows give frame and structure to the face. Eyebrow ninjas call it “drawing”. I’m not sure if you can relate with me but my first attempt to “drawing” my brows didn’t look natural and flattering at all, it was overly done, wonky and tragic. It took me time to find the right brow tool that’s not too technical and time-consuming. I found different types from gel based, to powderish to liquid, there’s just too many ways and I don’t want to complicate a #firstworldproblem like that.

Long story short, I am happy to have found my 3 on-the-go weapons to up my eyebrow game. By “up” I don’t mean I’m slaying it like the hardcore black belter eyebrow ladies but just nice enough to lift my face up. Meet my brow charmers: Continue Reading

Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Well the long wait is over. I’m finally able to try a cult brand I’ve heard so much rave about. Kat Von D beauty line known for its deeply pigmented, intense high coverage liquid lipstick is now available in all of Sephora branches in Singapore.

Here are five swatches of its best-selling Everlasting liquid lipstick range:

These lipsticks are formulated without parabens (major plus points) and enriched with vitamin E plus sunflower seed. They leave a smooth matte finish that’s not clumpy or thick.

My Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Story

I can’t rave about how I love Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair (ANR) serum without attributing credit to Missha Essence and its Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule (read My Missha story here). Both Estee Lauder and Missha work so hard to complete the science behind reversing signs of aging from hydrating skin, diminishing spots, to soothing lines and aiding skin’s natural nighttime renewal. Because of the effective results and my skin’s happy journey with Missha, I got determined to finally use Estee Lauder’s ANR (many bloggers claim that Missha Night Repair Ampoule is a dupe of ANR and that both have comparable results but of different price tags). Long story short, here’s to fighting all signs of aging with the Queen of nightly skin repair…

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – Sex Machine

These last 2 weeks I’ve been searching for a subtle lip shade for daily use apart from my usual nudes and pinks. It took me a while to pick one cos I wanted to try a brand I haven’t owned before, and yet I’m back to using Nars. Not complaining, this relationship is for keeps because Nars has really an undeniably ultra-versatile range of gorgeous lip shades with velvety matte finish. Here are some of the Nars velvet matte swatches that got me drooling
